The Space
& Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC), New Orleans is the first information technology organization
of its kind to be located in Louisiana. Through a unique partnership between
government, academia, and industry, the SSC New Orleans has established a center
for Information Technology/Information Management excellence. The SSC New Orleans uses enterprise management practices and processes to produce products and services that reduce costs, promote system interoperability, and decrease the time of deployment. A workforce comprised of military, government and contractor opersonnel support, the U.S. Navy, the Department of Defenses (DoD), and other government customers by providing a comprehensive range of IT products and services supporting personnel management systems, human resources systems, and other technical requirements. Together,
the SSC and the UNO Research and Technology Park are leading the way
in providing many new opportunities for technology-related business throughout
Louisiana. A unique consortium of federal, state All Louisiana universities will now be in the forefront for higher education learning, new business, and industry opportunities. No longer will our college graduates have to go to other states to work in high-technology fields. With continued support of business, industry, and state government, the SSC New Orleans will create new enterprises and satellite industries. The result will be the establishment of Louisiana as one of the nation’s top technological leaders. Located at the University of New Orleans, the SSC provides a firm
anchor for the University of New Orleans Research and Technology Park
and is the nucleus for the growth of the technology industry in Louisiana.

has been invested by the State of Louisiana for three 100,000 square foot

The federal government has invested $36 million in infrastructure. More
than 1,500 high-technology jobs were created with annual salaries
of $40-$60,000, representing an estimated annual economic impact of $272
million. The project sets new standards for improving readiness and
reducing costs by implementing an innovative methodology for Information
Technology and Management.
